FUTURE


WILL
El futuro simple se contruye con will, que al ser un verbo modal añade not para las oraciones negativas y cambia el orden del sujeto y del verbo en las oraciones interrogativas.
Carol will phone late. (Carol llamará tarde)
Carol won’t phone late.
Will Carol phone late? Yes, she will / No, she won´t

Usos

1.  Para cosas que decidimos en el momento de hablar:
It’s very hot today. I’ll open the window.

2.  Para predicciones:
I think Rose won’t be at the library this afternoon.

BE GOING TO
Se forma con el presente simple de verbo ‘to be’ + ‘going to’ + infinitivo:
Jack is going to sell his car. (Jack va a vender su coche)
Jack isn’t going to sell his car.
Is Jack going to sell his car? Yes, he is
No, he isn’t

Usos

1. Para hablar de cosas que tienes la intención de hacer:
We’re going to buy a car next year.

      2.  Para acciones que están a punto de suceder:
It’s going to rain soon.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS
Es otro tipo de futuro → ver el apartado del ‘present continuous’

Time expressions
this evening, later, soon, in an hour, tomorrow, next year / month, in 2012, in the future, at 5 o’clock, on 25th May, in a few weeks

FUTURE CONTINUOUS
Se construye con ‘will’ + ‘be’ + el infinitivo del verbo que corresponda añadiéndole ‘–ing’:
They will be dancing at the club next Saturday. (Ellos estarán bailando en la discoteca el sábado que viene)
They won’t be dancing at the club next Saturday.
Will they be dancing at the club next Saturday? Yes, they will / No, they won’t

Usos
      1.  Para hablar de acciones en progreso en un tiempo concreto del futuro:
Don’t phone me between 7 and 8. We’ll be having dinner then.

Time expressions
at this time, at this time next …, on Thursday, in the next decade
